Water-jet Technology:

Water-jet cutting technology is a method that can cut all materials from 0.1 mm to 120 -160 mm.

It is a cutting operation that is made as a result of sensitive destruction caused by jetting water or water-abrasive mixture towards the material with a very high speed (800m/sn) between 0.12 – 1.1 mm diameters that are precisely calibrated.

With water-jet, it is possible to cut all the materials including non-melting or non-flammable substances thanks to the absence of any thermal impact.

Hard metals such as titanium, tungsten alloys, stainless steels, carbon steels.

Soft metals such as aluminum, copper, brass, copper, lead.

Materials used in construction and decoration sectors such as granite, marble, ceramic, glass, bullet proof and laminated glass, wood

Carbon, Kevlar, composites, paper, cardboard, leather, textile products, sealing materials, flexi glass, polyester, polyethylene plates, fiber, all plastic and rubber derivatives can be cut with waterjet.

Significant advantages of Water-jet technology ;

- There will be no problems such as burning, driblet formation (melting), hardening and deformation that may be caused by thermal reasons as waterjet is a cold process.

- Material pairs with different burning or melting temperatures that cannot be cut by using laser and sandwich materials can be cut with waterjet.

- No chemical pollution forms during the process, as there is no material burning or melting.

Thanks to this advantage, there is no need for an additional investment such as gas absorption, refinery and filtration.

- Material loss is decreased to minimum level, as cutting trace interval is very narrow (max. 1.1 mm).

- It is possible to process (cut) very narrow and sharp corners depending on the phase diameter of the water-jet, which is the cutting component.

- All honeycomb-textured materials that cannot be cut by using other methods can be cut with water-jet.

- No burrs occur at the bottom or top side in the section cut by waterjet, thus no additional grinding or leveling is required.

- Very thin materials can be cut, as there is no risk for melting or burning.

- A material can be cut immediately after another one is completed by using the same cutting equipment without making any change but the cutting speed, therefore there is no time loss for setting the machinery and equipment especially in tailor cuts.

- No cutting defects occur because of the distance control errors especially in three-dimensional (cubic) cutting, as the tolerance between the material and cutting edge is relatively bigger.

Water-jet cutting technology is not yet a widely used cutting method in spite of this wide operating (cutting) spectrum, however its usage in the world and Turkey has been fastly increasing.

Water-jet in Architectural Sector

In marble, granite and ceramic sector, water-jet is used in cutting different-colored plates and tiles into all kinds of forms and getting them together side by side or telescopically as a puzzle.

Therefore it is possible to manufacture floor rosettes, floor or wall borders, table trays, washbasin or kitchen counter ornamentations in every kind of forms and patterns.
Thanks to the possibility of cutting all types of materials with by using waterjet, it is possible to make productions and designs with unusual architectural concepts by combining metals, natural stones, glass, wood and artificial materials. It is also used in application for manufacturing table legs or table plates in furniture sector (coffee table, etc. production).

Water-jet in Fine Arts

Production difficulties that partially restrict especially modern sculpture design can be significantly eliminated thanks to waterjet. Regardless from the material to be used or the requested form, all the designed details can be obtained by cutting from the related materials.

Water-jet in Construction Sector

In addition to architectural sector, waterjet usage in construction sector is mainly seen in modern constructions made by using stainless steel and aluminum and steel constructions. All the connection details, flanges and brackets of the profile and hawser systems and stainless steel can be cut in every requested form easily and thus, the production time and quality problems in productions made by using conventional methods are completely eliminated.
